principles, evidence, and limits

The learning science behind durable SAT prep

PsychSAT applies learning principles studied in cognitive and educational psychology. The research supports these principles under particular conditions; it does not prove that this product guarantees a score gain.

what the system does

Designed around a specific study job

Spacing

Review is distributed across time, and the useful gap depends partly on how long the knowledge needs to remain available.

Retrieval practice

Attempting to reconstruct an answer can support delayed learning relative to additional study in the conditions researchers tested.

Interleaving

Mixing confusable problem types can practice choosing a strategy, not only repeating a known procedure.

Research boundaries

PsychSAT states what each source supports and avoids turning context-dependent findings into universal score claims.

how it fits into practice

A clear loop from setup to evidence

  1. 1

    Start with the research question

Identify the population, material, comparison, delay, and outcome a source actually studied.

  2. 2

    Translate the principle carefully

Use the finding to shape a product mechanic without copying the study's result into a product promise.

  3. 3

    Keep the limitation visible

State what the evidence does not establish for the SAT or for an individual student.

  4. 4

    Correct claims when evidence changes

Update the public explanation, source record, and product copy together.

honest boundaries

What this page does not promise

  • PsychSAT has not run a controlled trial proving that its product causes a particular SAT score increase.
  • Effect sizes from one study should not be transplanted into a general marketing claim.
  • Growth-mindset findings are context-dependent and should not be reduced to universal score numbers.
